Your Responsibilities as a Door Installer
Remove & Replace You'll be responsible for removing old or broken garage doors and installing the new door they've chosen.
Educate the Customer You won't be required to convince anyone to buy anything, but you will show your customers how to operate and care for their new doors and operators, and how to troubleshoot common issues.
Quality Work Precision is in the name, so precise, high-quality work and workmanship are essential. Our customers are investing in their most valuable possession their house and we must treat it with care and respect.
Manage Inventory in Your Vehicle You'll need the right equipment, tools, and products to properly perform your job duties.
How to Succeed in this Role
Time Management Loading your vehicle with the correct equipment, fighting traffic to your customer's location, and installing their door can be time consuming.
Wowing the Customer Customers will be happy and leave glowing reviews.
Commitment to Safety You drive and work safely.
Requirements for the Door Installer Role
Basic Position Requirements:
Must have mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
Must have a valid driver's license & clean driving record.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds independently.
Must be able to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to work in the heat and cold, both outside and inside garages that may not be temperature-controlled.
Have interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers and solve issues.
Communicate and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Be reliable and able to serve our customers following our process.
Knowledge
Experience in the garage door industry is preferred but not required we will train you.
Must be able to use a computer and/or tablet. You can't be afraid of technology.
Must be able to use hand tools and operate mechanical equipment.
Pay and Benefits
We offer competitive pay that will meet or beat any trade. During your 90-day training period you will receive hourly training pay. After training, you will receive piece rate on the work you complete, with higher rates for more complex jobs.
Most door installers make between $50,000 and $75,000 per year.
